Mr. Herman R. Brister

With 20 plus years of successful educational experience,  Herman Brister has established a reputation for leading successful organizations. He has a wealth of experience developing and implementing successful strategies in education (K-12/higher education), business, finance, development, marketing & branding, event production, other sectors, and disciplines. 

At BASIC Solutions, Herman is responsible for leading and supporting various client engagements that leverage his successful leadership and organizational expertise. With vast work experience in traditional, magnet, gifted, charter, and private schools he will be able to utilize his expertise to help your organization grow. 

Herman is an award winning leader who has served in the capacity of Executive Director, Principal, Board Chair, Committee Chair, and other significant roles. He is a graduate of Southern University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and a Master of Arts in Administration & Supervision.

Mrs. Jessica C. Brister

Mrs. Jessica C. Brister is a passionate learning leader, with more than 20 years of experience. Having served as a teacher, department chair, lead magnet school teacher, assistant principal, principal, district and state level administrator, she is equipped with a wealth of knowledge. Jessica received a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA and a Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Education from Louisiana State University of Baton Rouge. Most of Mrs. Brister’s educational experience has been in an urban school district where she served as an Executive Director for School Leadership and a School Principal, during which time she and her colleagues accepted the challenge to grow student achievement in some of the most difficult to run schools in the second largest public school system in the state of Louisiana. She has supported, supervised, provided professional learning and collaborated with content specialists, coaches, assistant principals, principals, district administrators including assistant superintendents and superintendents to lead successful school improvement efforts. Mrs. Brister holds certifications in Biology and General Science, K-12 School Principalship, School Superintendent and LA School Turnaround Specialist. She is recognized for her work in school turnaround, curriculum expertise, instructional leadership, coaching, love for literacy and ensuring equitable access for all. Her greatest joy is being wife and mother to her husband Herman R. Brister, Jr and her 3 children (Herman, III, Hannah, and Hunter.)
